STAMFORD — The Hey Stamford! Food Festival will be back at Mill River Park in August, with demonstrations by two celebrity chefs and music performances by Flo Rida and DJ Pauly D.
The festival will stretch two weekends: Aug. 11 to 14 and Aug. 18 to 21.
Chefs Todd English and Aaron May will lead cooking demos during the first weekend. A “soon-to-be announced roster of well-known chef friends” will join them, providing cooking presentations and interacting with festival-goers, according to a release.
May is the executive chef and culinary director at Bullseye Event Group as well as a judge on several Food Network shows. English has created a well-known brand and produced his own show for PBS. Earlier this year, the English Hospitality Group — English’s joint venture with entrepreneur Keith Burkard — announced plans to open a food hall and art exhibition at Stamford Town Center by early 2024.
“It is an honor to welcome such amazing culinary talent to our growing event this year,” P.J. Kennedy, the founder of the Hey Stamford! blog and co-producer of the fest, said in the release. “With the Todd English Food Hall making its way to our city, we are thrilled to be able to show Todd and Aaron how great our Stamford community is.”
Also during the first weekend, DJ Pauly D will perform Saturday night. Resurrection – A Journey Tribute will hit the stage Sunday.
Flo Rida will be up Saturday during the second weekend. The following day, Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, All-4-One, Young MC and Kid ‘n Play will perform as part of the “I Love the 90’s Tour.”
Various food vendors will be selling their fare throughout both weekends.
In addition, drinks will be served at a beer garden on both Thursdays. On Fridays, the festival will have food, live music and “activities for the entire family,” according to the release.
“With everything from the live performance lineup to the growing number of food offerings, it’s a perfect fit for two amazing chefs such as Todd and Aaron to come on board and lend their culinary talents to the 2022 Hey Stamford! Food Festival,” Ilario Altamura, Parachute Concerts’ president and festival co-producer, said in the release.
Tickets for the two weekends of events can be bought online at https://heystamfordfoodfest.com/. Tickets will also be sold at the door, but only cash will be accepted. Children under 10 years old will be able to enter for free.
